Dr. Olugbenga A. Mokuolu is MSH’s Portfolio Director for malaria projects in Nigeria and serves as a Technical Advisor on the disease. Prior to joining MSH, he served as the National Malaria Technical Director to the National Malaria Elimination Program in Nigeria.
Dr. Mokuolu is a neonatologist and infectious diseases expert who brings to MSH extensive experience in malaria case management, malaria programming, and long-term institutional administration. He has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria as well as to the United Nations Office for Project Services, where he supported National Malaria Control Programs in Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya, providing capacity building, resource mobilization, and strategic planning expertise.
Dr. Mokuolu chaired the WHO Technical Expert Group on Antimalarial Guidelines from 2017 to 2019 and was the joint winner of the 2017 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Prize for Science in Nigeria for his contributions to malaria efforts. He holds both an MBA and a doctorate in medicine from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and is a Fellow of the West Africa College of Physicians.
